Recently my best friend (also a lifelong knitter) and I were talking about a couple of projects we had going on. I don’t have anything with Herringbone Stitch in the works, but somehow it came up and so I thought I’d make a little swatch video on how I do Herringbone on straight needles. Herringbone is done by knitting 2 stitches together through the back loop (TBL), and leaving the second stitch on the left needle. For the wrong side, purl 2 stitches together and then leave the second stitch on the left needle. You can do this stitch on circulars as well, you just have to change the orientation of the first stitch of every round. When working with straight needles, simple herringbone to the last stitch then knit or purl it regular (depending on which side of the work you’re on.) #thingsknit #herringbonestitch #herringboneknit #handknit @haleykristine
